Hmmm, well I can appreciate that your parents think you have enough chickens, especially since they haven't even started to lay yet, still, a shame about your started egg... I was afraid they had banned you from the internet or something.... Still, you are young and you will have a rooster at some point if you continue your chicken hobby. But I am not really getting why a rooster would make your chickens more likely to be killed by raccoons? Did they explain that one? Anyway, if what you really want is a rooster, they are given away free everyday here on this site and elsewhere... But you do have to be zoned to have roosters and since they are noisy crowers, they are hard to hide. Wish I could give you one of mine, I have some beautiful light Brahmas that are very sweet guys. Anyway, it is good to hear from you, since a bunch of people here seem to think you are a "troll", but I think you are "for real". Just hang in there, eventually you will be at a place where you can have more chickens... These people here should be able to relate since they are mostly kind of "bird crazy" too! Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing! And if you are still hiding that egg somewhere, let us know so we can find a place for it where it can safely grow!

Lumpy, I hope you don't give up on your dream to hatch eggs, it will happen, if not with this egg, then with others in the future. I'd be pleased to have a kid who is interested in incubation, I think you have a good attitude.
