is it posible to incubate a chicken egg using body heat?

well its more of an idea and it wont be against the cup just in the jenerall are, I know its kind of stupid but it is hotter and more humid with less harmfull bacteria
Your groin harbors just as much, if not more, harmful bacteria than your armpit does.

Look up how to make cheap styrofoam incubators if you want to hatch something.

Bizarre is all I can say, like @Susan Dye said, from a single egg for merigenge, to hatching, to now hatching from your crotch! :sick
The general temp of the human body is 98.6°F, some peeps are lower, some have higher temp. This being said, if you could manage to keep your temp steady, make sure the egg is turned, humidity kepted within range and bacteria out and not crack or break the egg....it would probably take an extra 2 days to hatch at 98.6°F temp.
I admire your quest for scientific knowledge but in this case I wouldn't recommend it!
At the same time, I'll be :pop

I’m betting the only thing that will hatch from that is a rotten egg, probably all over the bedsheets too! :sick
Then again, that does sound pretty entertaining.

:goodpost:
:eek:I'm sorry but I'm not sure what to say :eek:If you want chicks you need more than one egg as they are flock animals and my personal feeling is you should get an incubator. As a nurse and midwife I can assure you there are a lot of bacteria down there

Oooh youre a guy. Hmm. Well if youre up to hatching eggs with body heat maybe you wouldnt have a problem with tis suggestion:

A sports bra could work. I kept 8 eggs alive when my power went out in the winter on my chest under a pillow.

I think the hardest part of keeping them alive to hatch will be not blocking the pores with sweat and grease, and making sure they are warm enough. Maybe wrap the egg/eggs in one layer of cheese cloth to put a bit of a barrier between your skin and the egg. Too much though and it will block your bdy heat.

Um, cross contamination. And not to mention that while human body core temp is 98.6... which is at least 1* too low, the skin temp is only 92*. Note that a chicken's core temp is 104*, while her skin temp is quite a bit lower. Aside from the novelty or shock value of it all, there is absolutely no logical reason to try to incubate an egg with human body heat.

ok first yes i am a male second i already have chickens and a coop just no rooster and finally yeah i know that was a stupid idea. well i guess what im goin to do today is just lie in bed with the egg
