You mean his mama doesn't know yet... If she is any kind of mom she will figure it out within 21 days, though I really kind of worry more about the dad... I really have to worry about who will brood the chick if by some chance it actually successfully hatches. It will be very lonely. I don't think the young man was going to make the meringue, that was probably the mom...

" ...it's all good" is seriously relative in this particular thread as has been made clear by the swings of opinions about what is actually happening here? A question which I cannot answer, as I am as befuddled as you are.... laughing all the while! I apologize for my awful grammar....
 
If you have chickens, why don't you just wait for one to go broody and give the egg to her to hatch? You can't otherwise depend on any of your chickens to brood this chick if it hatches, and by then you will be back in school.
