Is it possible to have just one chicken with respiratory problems?

I am wondering if you're going to run into state law that prohibit the sale of antibiotics. That means you will have to go through a vet to get an antibiotic. You will know quickly enough if you try to order online. They will refuse your order if your state has this law.

Personally, I wouldn't breed any of them then.

The moving of the head back and forth - is he clearing his crop?
I think all you can do is check his crop to see that it's emptying and try the antibiotics.
Any from that special needs group I just listed, or any from the flock? We don’t sell our chicks or anything, but we are hoping to hatch some this year.

No, it’s not like that. It’s literally in a perfectly straight horizontal line- back and forth. I hope we can try the antibiotics, but I’m not sure.

Would times of stress also be bad molts? I have never seen any other one of my birds have any symptoms ever. We notice any and every weird behavior that our chickens display. Even if it is just that my crossbeak pullet is at POL and has been spending more time outside, it got me worried. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if my flock had a respiratory disease if it meant they were still like a normal flock and were happy, but I’ve never seen anyone else even have any symptoms like that.

I don’t, but he will stick out his neck and move it horizontally, back and forth, a few times, and then he will go back to his normal behavior. He also shakes his head sometimes as well.

We got him from a breeder that bred his breed for egg color, so I’m not sure if he is also a result of very poor breeding? One of his hatch mates has crossbeak and other chickens that we got from them have crossbeak and bent toes.
Was going to ask if he came from them. Truly terrible.

You've gotten some great advice here. Nothing more to add than.. Keep us updated!

It says that Tylan 50 is available to order from a tractor supply that is located in Monmouth, Oregon. I didn’t actually add it to the cart or order it, but it said it was available.

Unfortunately, we need to get rid of him. He has started trying to go after our other rooster, and we can’t have them killing each other. He had a really good day yesterday, I think it was. He didn’t have any breathing problems when being held, which is his most common symptom. Today though, he had a bad day because he was getting chased around, by our other rooster, for trying to attack him.

Sorry your having a rough time.

I wouldn't rehome him, I'd cull him if you can keep him.

I would if I could, but my parents don’t think we should. My mom doesn’t think his “allergies” are contagious, and they are against culling, for the most part. It’s really not up to me. Sad thing is that he will most likely be culled and probably end up eaten, if I had to guess. He just can’t stay here any longer.
