I would in a heartbeat but I live overseas and they are very very behind here. The hospital is the equivelent of a 1970's inner-city hospital so they still are lacking proper education in regards to the importance of breast-milk and donation.

Too bad you aren't in the states. When Ethan was in the NICU and had to have donor milk it was $4 an OUNCE! (Thank God insurance paid for that for us!!)

Curious though, why don't you just continue to feed it to your baby? Even if he's over a year old and drinking from a sippy cup... if I had breastmilk stored up I would definitely be using it for my little man for as long as it lasted.

Why not here on BYC? This forum is full of people from all walks of life and we don't always know who we are really dealing with. In fact several people on here have stated they have serious dieseases.

Not sure I would want breast milk soap myself but would love to try the others

Aw we tried, I only pumped because I have an issue with over-production, there's close to 250oz in my frezzer that is pushing 8 months old, it is too old to feed the kids so I opted for making soap opposed to throwing it away. My son wasnt able to figure out how to use a bottle and he prefers it fresh from the source so he never wanted it

With proper testing that risk it eliminated

But I can see where milk fresh from mom would be discarded, I would just die if my kids were given someone elses milk without proper testing. Yikes!

The actual soap making process would kill HIV, it is a very easy virus to kill outside the body, once it's in the body it's a whole other story

I only planned on making it for my family but the thought that it would/could be sold is interesting, not sure I would do it but it's a thought... I have no idea about the fat content, I know the milk is from the first 6 months of my sons life so the fat content is higher than it would be now but I will just have to try and see.

Aw why? I didnt think anything was wrong with what you said?!
I just assumed you were saying that people on BYC were more trustworthy that those on general discussion boards.
