Is it too soon to tell if I have roosters?

You need to get another hen that is the same breed or she will die. They don't survive alone. They also will not want to befriend a larger chicken of a different breed.

The original statement was somewhat dramatic. Chickens are a social animal and are not meant to be alone - being a lone chicken is distressing to them and it should be avoided if at all possible. There is no need for them to be of the same breed.

She won't die if she's alone. She might be a bit depressed, but she won't die from being alone. You don't need another of the same breed, but you should get a few friends for her of similar age or size. Chickens are happiest when they have other chickens to do chicken things with.

Thanks for the clarification! I have six chicks snd only two are the same breed and they all seem quite happy together. So I just wanted to make sure... ;-)

Update: I rehomed the roosters and kept my pullet. She did just fine by herself. Although she adopted me as her flock and has separation anxiety when I first leave for the day. When she hears me come home from work she cocka-doodle-doos until I come to her hutch and greet her! I got four chicks this past March and I am hoping they will integrate as a flock with her when they are grown. We will have to wait and see. I got two silkies and two Japanese White Tails. At least one is a roo. I suspect I might have three roos and 1 pullet. But still, I will have to wait to see.
