Is ivermectin paste okay?

It was gapeworms.. They came out in his poop as long red stringy things. He is doing much better and is no longer yawning constantly. I gave him meds for 5 days. The only difference in his poop was the long stringy red worms. I will dose him again in 10 days. Thank you everyone!

"Long red stringy things" sounds like intestinal lining to me, not gapeworms. Gapeworms are "Y" shape with the male and female in permanent copulation. The female doesnt grow no more than 1 inch in length, the male only grows to 1/4 inch. Additionally, they are lodged in the trachea and not excreted in feces. The eggs are excreted in feces onto the soil to be picked directly or indirectly by your birds.
Capillary worms can cause shed intestinal lining and bleeding. They also can infect the crop. This might be why your rooster recovered by using the wormer.

I didn't take pictures of his poop but I found a picture of what the redstrings looked like. He isn't yawning anymore and no longer has a bloody vent. He seems happy and perky.
