I'm very sorry for your loss. I know how difficult it is to lose a duckling. You gave her the best home she could possible want for her short life on earth. Our thoughts are with you.

Amanda and her critters

Ah I am so sorry I was really hoping this little on would make it!
Remember you gave her the best 11 days of her life!
I also would contact the hatchery.

Thank you all for the kind words. I did e-mail the hatchery and sent pictures. The other 2 girls miss her deeply, they have been calling out for her all night and morning. When I let them out for their bath, they were searching and calling for her, they didnt even want to swim today.. It makes me even more sad hearing them call out to her in such a worried squeak Ive never heard before..

Please let us know if the hatchery contacts you, I hope you'll get a new baby, she'll not replace Monia but will probably come with a freind which will help with your addiction.

Thank you. The hatchery said Im sorry for your loss, but we only insure deaths for the first 24hrs, and theres no telling what caused the duckling to die. For some reason I was not satisfied with this answer.. I do know they lost my future business

I think I will only be getting my future babies from breeders (BYCers probably lol), since they care more about them.

Thats really too bad about the hatchery after all they hatch out thousands of ducklings every year. But I think your right about going through a breeder or BYCer. hopefully you'll be able to find some close to you.

After I saw what hatcheries do to their roos when hatched I vowed I'd never buy from a hatchery and I never have.
