Is my cracked egg ok and more questions

Since it's still basically day one, isn't mine ok? Why do you say it's dead/infertile. I am curious
Because I see no orangish mottling on top of the yolk, nor do I see anything else. I said "The egg appears to be dead or incubation never began."

If it's early on day one, than incubation hasn't begun yet. It takes a chicken egg nine hours to begin cell replication after it's brought to incubation temp. Otherwise, it would begin incubating inside the chicken, and after it was laid and became cool, it would simply die.

Thanks for the clarity, and all your other help. I guess I will just see what happens
