***Dads, close your eyes for this post! lol

I have some hens that we got from our local feed store on April 13 when they were a few days old.
We have another hen that I bought from someone who is roughly 4 months old now, I was told she should start to lay around July or August.
This morning, I saw traces of blood clots laying around the barn where they sleep. It looks like blood from menstruation. Is it normal to have blood before laying for the first time?
I suspect no foul play, all of my chickens typically get along. There were no signs of pecking and no wounds on any of the chickens.

Chickens do not menstruate. They lay eggs every 1-4 days normally. Blood could be from pecking a comb or blood feather, in the droppings from coccidiosis or other parasites, or from internal bleeding or cancer. New layers may have a smear of blood on an egg occasionally. I would take a picture if you see more. Most of us with chickens will occasionally see drops of blood around the coop, and we usually cannot locate the victim or even the location.
