I have a 3 month old White Crested Polish that I received free with my order of chicks. I think its a girl, but it being my first crested chicken, I don't know for sure.

Sorry if the pic doesn't work the first time, I'm new to this.

It looks like a girl, the boy's "hats" are usually more crazy looking.

I don't know - those head feathers are lookin' long and pointy to me. I'm leaning toward roo.

Polish hens' crest feathers are round on the ends, the effect is round and poofy (think 'fro!)

Roo's feathers are long and tapering, like the neck hackles, the effect is almost like dreadlocks when they get long enough.

At 3 months old, I vote for girl. Wouldn't a roo already have considerable more wattles at this point?

Check out my avatar - that is our Polish "Carly" (nicknamed "Dora the Explorer", "Dinosaur" or "Crow")

I still think it's a she. We have blue polish and the girls faces are always paler and their "hats" are always neater than the their roo's. But I could be wrong.....
