Is my pot belly pig pregnant?!?!?

Pics
I have done research on this as well and from what i gather she will use anything for a nest. Hay is what you need in her farrowing box. About 2in, anymore and you have to worry about the piglets getting lost under it and squished. But when she is nesting it is more than a bedtime nesting or as my i call my pig doing "making her bed". She will gather sticks, rocks or anything to build a nest. Jazzy tries to take stuffed animals into my bathroom. Keep her seperated from other animals as well. Like all pregnant females...we get moody. they say once she is building her nest you have about two days before she farrows. When you get a good squirt of milk from her you are hours away. Good luck and post pics. I will do the same. If mine is preggo and I will take a pic of the xray and show you guys. Yes I am that crazy :)

so vet visit was fun. I learned to treat my jazzy like a 2 yr old child and she will behave. xrays showed something in her abdomen but no calcification. that means either she was never pregnant, she was and lost the babies, or she is not as far along as we think. Her abdomen was full of something and it wasn't poop. there was nothing in the bladder so no stones but the vet thinks maybe crystals. We are changing antibiotics(oh joy injections) to see how that goes. so hopefully this will all work out to the better. If she isn't pregnant and all this gets cleared up I might be looking for a boar soon. I want babies lol

the basic pig feed from tsc and she does have access to green grass. I also feed her some fruits and veggs. Even when she was in the house i would pick grass and bring in for her. She had been in the house for 4 days before her xray so she had not had access to outside nonstop grazing. the xray looked like she had poop every where in her abdomen(not like it was floating around not in the intestine). it was a molted appearnce throughout the abdomen. It is hard to explain. I have tried looking up xrays of pig abdomens and I haven't had any luck. I know i didn't see any piglet skeletons. and it wasn't the best xray either. she didn't like having her picture taken. I am wondering if the blood was from her aborting after the dog attack. Even so i you would still see piglets and she would have passed them....right? My sister and I still swear we felt and saw movement in her abdomen. If that was so we would have seen skeletons. Maybe it was gas?? geez i am rambling

It is possible for an animal to abort and not expel the fetuses. I have seen it in cattle and also happens in humans. Usually what happens is they start to decay and cause infection in the mother which smells horrid, and if not taken care of can kill her. That is worse case scenario though and I am sure your vet is very familiar with that possibility. I know she is young but could it be cancer or some other benign tumors?

Edited to correct spelling

Just read through all of this. What a roller coaster of a ride with miss Jazzy!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her... and you.

What we saw in her abdomen does not look like cancer. there is no sign of infection plus she has been on ceph 500mg bid. we just started peng injections today. if she did have a uterine infection she would be in a lot worse condition. She is eating, drinking, playing, and urine and bm is normal. I have seen pyometras in dogs and I know how bad it can get. maybe the blood was from her aborting. I have put her outside for the first time today...away from her best friend ferbie the goat since he can be rough with her. I will bring her in tonight and she if she bleeds again. keep your fingers crossed.

I am at a loss. Pure blood this morning in her litter box. I really don't think it is a UTI. I hate this. My sister thinks she is still pregnant. SHe compares it to a woman who has been put on bed rest toward the end of her pregnancy due to complications. She has been on pen g for three days. Short of an exporatory surgery I don't know what to do. And I can't afford surgery and I don't want to lose her. She is still eating and drinking normally, a bit more grump but can you blame her. I think her teets have gotten bigger. Anyone who knows pigs want to come over and take a look at her????? I couldn't pay you but I will cook you dinner. It might end up being eggs and bacon......(joking)

P.s. I have started trying to incubate eggs and that seems to be going well.....gotta see the up side to everything
