Scooter (center) was the only small duck in a mixed bin at TSC. He is literally half the size of his companions now. Could he be a call duck? What other small breeds of duck are there?

Most likely a Welsh Harlequin... could be bantam Silver Appleyard, but doubtful TSC would ever get those or Call ducklings.... Call ducklings do not ship well, and if in a box with standard ducklings, wouldn't make it to destination location...

Thanks for your input Ravyn! I'll look those up. He was the only one of his kind in the duck bin, and I went the day after they got their shipment in. So, I was wondering if he was an "oops" breed. This is my first time having ducks, so I'm on a biiiiiiiiiig learning curve still!

Are they all the same age?
Yes, they are the same age! The photo is a bit old, but they are around three weeks old now. The size difference is even more obvious now, especially with the pekin.

Thanks for all the complements guys! The ducks are super fun :hugs

Not a call. Either a younger duckling or a runt. Some do not thrive as well as others and will take longer to grow and catch up.
Thanks for your input! I'm pretty sure they are the same age, so he very well may be the runt. I hope he does well, he's a very snuggly bird and loves to swim (we blow dry them afterwards so they don't chill!). By far my favorite. Sunflower isn't very friendly, and Chomper...well she bites! Haha. But Scooter is a love bug.

Love the names!
