Is My Salmon Faverolles a Roo or Just a Strange Color??

Hmmm, maybe Vera ( makes me think of the Tv show Alice... and Mel’s dinner, kiss my grits and all that)

But anyway ... maybe Vera is an Easter Egger?

Or only half Faverolle, not sure how likely that is from a hatchery?

Or maybe you just have a really, really off standard Faverolle, I have seen pictures of beardless favs that occur occasionally.

Haha! Tucks is odd looking but she's a nice hen. Her daughter and sister are both normal...more confusion, I apologise. Top is daughter, bottom sister. So they can be all over the place with color, beards everything.

Oh wow that had to have been subconscious!!! She's TOTALLY Vera!! Especially now that she has Chestnut coloured "hair" and is so quirky! Haha but especially her pretty blue grey eyes....which got me thinking....wait a minute, she has blue grey eyes?!? Ummm.....aren't Salmon Faverolles supposed to have red bay eyes?? In fact, are any chickens even supposed to have blue grey eyes???

This chicken makes NO SENSE whatsoever haha but I adore kooky little Vera!!

Oh, and this is Vera next to Gilda and Maisie, her two Easter Egger sisters that came in the same order from Ideal. Her puffs are puny compared to theirs!!

I'm really interested to see what Vera ends up looking like in another 3-4 weeks

But I think eye color can change quite a bit as they get older

my favs had greenish eyes & my splash ameraucanas had blue eyes at 4 weeks

...not sure what color they are now, might check tomorrow if I can remember

The eyes change as they age my original three started with greenish eyes. But this last hatch the boys started out more yellow and the girl was more blueish.

I have a Salmon Favorella and he looks just like yours. He is a very sweet boy.
