Look around at the world sometime without the views you know now - look through with the eyes of a child and you will see that Santa, does indeed, still exist and is alive and well.

One day when you have children of your own...(and hopefully before then) you will understand the meaning of St. Nicholas

Saint Nicholas was real. I know that much. But, (warning, Christian reply!!) the idea that "Santa" lives forever, and his image is taking away from Christmas, and the true meaning of the holiday. I think the Santa idea got way out of hand, you know? We think Christmas, we picture midgets walking around in goofy outfits, and this overweight dude with huge beard and fat rosy cheeks, puffing on a pipe.

That's just my idea. =]
When I do have children, I'll throw out the Santa story, and give them option of believing. But I also don't want them to think that that's what Christmas is all about, yanno?

Wow! Lot's of Santa believers.

I agree. I feel that Christmas is VERY commercialized. I for one will not let my kids grow up thinking Christmas is all about presents and Santa. We remember the real meaning of Christmas in my home. Do my kids and myself believe in Santa??? Absolutely. But we also believe in the real meaning of Christmas.

Christmas isn't all about presents and gifts and getting stuff. it's about giving to others, and spending time with family and friends. it's about believing, and seeing happy faces light up on Christmas day. and much much more!

I will start off by saying I am terrified of rodents. My daughter wanted a hamster. Hamsters are just rats without tails in my mind. I hate rats- I hate tailless rats- I hate hamsters.
She got a hamster for Christmas. And the next year, when she was doubting Santa's existance, I explained to her that Santa does exist. He isn't "real" per se, but he does exist. It was santa who brought her the hampster- because I sure wouldn't have.

Of course Santa exists.

Read Flight of the Reindeer if you wan the scientific analysis.

I worked with homeless people for many years. I saw people in the most abject poverty give their last dime to some one else. I saw many things that could not be explained in normal ways.

As long as some people believe and are willing to live out his spirit - he lives.

Yes, Santa is real, because on Christmas morning, My sis and I went outside and found a stocking with dolls in it and glitter all over. We also found a huge candy cane. I believe in Santa, and I always will.
