Is she a true Ameraucana?

She was listed as an Ameraucana, but when I went to see if I could show her she didn't look like any if the breeds on the Ameraucana.org breeders club... Is she perhaps a cute mutt? if so that's cool she's still the prettiest and friendliest in our flock if 7 sweeties!

so… if you happened to get your chicken from a feed store, it's not an Ameraucana, no matter what the sign says. They always do that that with the Easter Eggers.

You are correct. This is an Easter egger. Most hatcheries cross ameraucanas or araucanas which lay blue eggs with other breeds to produce more prolific layers that lay eggs in different colors. They frequently market them as Araucanas or Amerraucanas but they are actually Easter eggers.
