Is she broody or egg bound?

My 9 month old bantam cochin has been staying in the nesting box. I don't think shes laid an egg in a few days. She is coming out to eat and free range a bit bit otherwise staying in the box. She feels like shes lost some weight. Any suggestions.

sounds like broody. Ive never had an egg bound chicken so idk what thats like but from what you said, thats why they do when they go broody. Has she lost any feathers on her belly?

There aren't any eggs, she grumbles but doesn't peck but then shes very docile normally. I checked her I couldn't feel an egg internal or external. Hoping shes just broody and wanting to stay in the box.

If you don't have eggs for her to hatch - then I'd do a quick ice bath on the booty. Snaps 'em right out of it.

It's a literal "chill the F out moment" haha

She is very fluffy but I do see some of her fluffy tummy feathers on the floor of the coop and on the nesting box, is this another sign of her being broody/too warm?

the picture with my RIR is several months ago, I don't see a difference so thinking it's just her being broody. She did stay out in the run most of today but later in the day went back in the nest box.
