If you don't have eggs for her to hatch - then I'd do a quick ice bath on the booty. Snaps 'em right out of it.There aren't any eggs, she grumbles but doesn't peck but then shes very docile normally. I checked her I couldn't feel an egg internal or external. Hoping shes just broody and wanting to stay in the box.
She is very fluffy but I do see some of her fluffy tummy feathers on the floor of the coop and on the nesting box, is this another sign of her being broody/too warm?sounds like broody. Ive never had an egg bound chicken so idk what thats like but from what you said, thats why they do when they go broody. Has she lost any feathers on her belly?
pictures I had massive egg layers and they went egg bound and they looked it tooThere aren't any eggs, she grumbles but doesn't peck but then shes very docile normally. I checked her I couldn't feel an egg internal or external. Hoping shes just broody and wanting to stay in the box.
