Is she broody?

If she's broody she likely won't lay. I have had almost-but-not-quite broodies caged up and they did lay a final egg on the first day of caging (on the floor) and I just picked up the egg from there.

I've never put in a roost in my broody breaker but you can if you want. They'll just sleep on the floor otherwise.
Okay, thank you, and yea she didn't lay an egg today so that explains a lot. I wish there was some kind of toy chick you can shove under them and they magically stop being broody.LOL

my crate already has a floor I just checked. Would that be okay?

That may or may not work, depending on how determined she is to set.

I actually don't have a wire crate as a broody breaker, I just shove broodies into my outdoor chick brooder or a wire dog exercise pen, so there's no extra airflow, but because I begin breaking immediately, I've never had an issue not having airflow under the bird.

Please post a pic of your crate.

Well if you are crating her she'll be stressed anyway. You can't break her from being broody without her stressing. I'd put the dog crate inside and keep her inside with her own food and water for 3 days.

Thank you. I'm having family over for Christmas eve so I dont want to bring her inside until everyone leaves so shes not stressed out by all the loud noise. I might pick up a hamster water thing or something and out a water cup on it so she doesnt spill a bowl of water like last time.
