Is the a roo & what breed?

I live in the city and can't have roosters...when you get them as chicks you can't tell so it was wait and see. Well I had a roo and was in denial becuase he was so sweet. He started crowing last week and I knew my neighbor was going to go crazy! Everyone who would take a roo wanted to eat it. My son was so upset by this he couldn't allow anyone to eat "Cheese". I told him I would try my best to find a home where Cheese would be a pet and not dinner. Well a nice lady who works at the local Tractor Supply (where I got the chickens) was looking for a pet rooster! He is a really pretty bird and I am glad he has a good home. Keep asking around, put an ad on craigslist. Good luck, I was stressed knowing that I needed to find a home for our roo and hoping that he wouldn't be dinner. I understand that's where most roosters end up but when you name them and raise them from chicks its hard!!
