The kind woman did say that this hen was a sweetheart, a pushover. She had to house her with the much milder capons, limit her ration and force her to forage. She was not a great layer though. Layed about 3-4 eggs a week at her peak.

Bless your heart, I would find myself keeping them for sure. I learned when I got meat goats that I am no good at processing my animals. Not one goat was ever butchered lol. I'm sure I would do the same with these two. It would be a heck of a lot easier if they weren't so sweet huh!!

Gosh, yes!!!!! My husband is a lot better about it than I am but he's in no rush either. These little babies were his favorites. He loved their little yellow fluffy selves whenever we got them and then bam. They weren't what we expected. It's just getting more and more real as the weeks go by. If they were jerks, I'd be fine. Lol! But noooo... they have to be the sweetest chickens in our entire flock... :barnie

Awh!! They really are super sweet. They just love talking to you when they see you and they like to sit in your lap and just cuddle up next to you..... ahhhhhh...
