It is a great breed. The tails do make for a bit of extra work. They stay the best as free-range or in bare, large coops and runs. They are a friendly breed, easily tamed and handled. Not real aggressive either, making it possible to have multiple roosters without serious fighting.This is a horrible thread! I now need Phoenixes!

They sound nice, I might try and get some when I have space, would 4sq ft in the coop and 10sq ft in the run per bantam be enough for them?
The roosters have tails 3 feet or longer that is carried close to and on the ground. I do not think four square feet and 10 square feet would be sufficient.
I have been trying to find hatching eggs from a good breeder as well. Luckily our sweet old friend raises the Golden Phoenix and that's how we got started with this breed.
I may be open to egg swaps. I certainly would like to see more profile pictures of your roosters and hens.
I will have to get some decent pictures of them this weekend when my husband has time to help me pose them, lol!
How much space do they need?
Actually, I'd rather see pictures of the Phoenix just as they are and not posed. To be honest, I wish to be sure the birds are similar to mine. Numerous people are raising Phoenix that carry their tails high. I'm more into the pheasant look where the tails are low to the ground.
If you ever come up with a true red pyle color in a long-tailed bantam, PLEASE look me up! I don't care about the breeding or the number of toes. I have enough chickens in my little flock to do "regular chicken duties." I just want another pretty shoulder ornament to spoil. My Yukon would ride like a parrot and walk on a leash!
