37 years and it can get even better. We just celebrated our 60th year.

Hey everybody.
I have raised chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, pigs - 7 boys and now having fun 9 grandkids - one coming this spring - and missing two that went home very early in life.
My beautiful wife and I will be married for 37 years this August…and it’s just gettin’ good!
I live in Alberta Canada, 77 acres of trees, water and a llittle chicken growin country; It’s is a little cold in the winter, a little hot in the summer …but always as close to perfect as I can get on this Ole earth.
I still work as a cop for 4 days a week…but can’t wait to get home.
I have just a few layers right now but will put in a few broilers and Turkeys in June…

Welcome. Love your honest introduction. I love God and family as well, but as you, I work on the loving all people part as well. You will like it here. A lot of folks are very generous sharing their experience and time.

I do have a question for something that’s come up of late. I lost a couple of chickens in my pen. Both of them had their head and necks eaten, right to, and actually into the crop. It also looks like the animal tried to pull the chicken through a hole. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Welcome!!!! I'm with ya God and family are my priorities. 7 boys huh. That reminds me of one of my close friends he's 2nd to last of 7 boys. Met him when he was a homeschooled 16 year old. Now he's in the Army National Guard.
