Is there some sort of gadget that hard boils eggs AFTER they are out of the shell?

My friend who also owns chickens was talking about some sort of "seen on TV" contraption that you crack the egg, poour it in and then you can hard boil them, no shelling involved?

My 6yo can eat a ton of HB eggs, he had 9 the other day, it was almost comical, we don't let him eat that many eggs daily, but geesh, it take a lot of time to shell all of those.

They are called Eggies. You crack the egg into them and hard boil them without the shell. They are fine if you are going to make a bunch of hard boiled eggs, but I don't use them for just a few. They have several pieces per Eggie. You also should spray the insides with non stick spray before you put the egg into it so it wont stick. I like to use them when I am making lots of hard boiled eggs :)

Hmmmm, it looks really cool, but I don't like the heating in the plastic part.

Any reviews form people who have used them?

I got some, used 'em once and got rid of them. It was soooo much fuss that I found it easier to just peel regular boiled eggs. You have to oil them up before putting the eggs in them, and then the oil tends to make them really slippery for tightening the rings and such. JMO, but I didn't like them at all.

I hadn't heard of Eggies until I saw this thread. I agree with greenmimama... I'm not a huge fan of cooking anything in plastic. :( I recently started hard "baking" our eggs because my husband can eat a ton, and I'm THE WORST at hard boiling them!!
It's extremely simple and out of the 200 or so eggs I done so far, I've only had about 4 that are hard to peel!! I will NEVER boil eggs again. Here's the "recipe", just thought I'd share... Might save you money so you don't have to buy Eggies. :)

Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.
Place uncooked eggs (in shell) upright in muffin tin. If you don't have a tin, you can certainly just place eggs directly on the center oven rack!! The tin just makes it easier to place eggs in/out of oven.
Once oven is pre-heated, place tin with eggs on center rack (or just place eggs on oven rack).
Bake for 30 minutes. The eggs may sweat a little, and it's completely normal. You may end up with little brown spots on outside of shells, which is also completely normal. They should just rinse off.
When done, remove from oven and allow to cool on counter until cool enough to handle. You don't have to remove them from the tin.
Peel and eat!! I'm not kidding you, it's that easy!!! I even did 3 dozen at once last Easter, and every single egg came out perfect.
Enjoy!!! :)

Thanks Lutzranchette for sharing that, it makes great sense for doing a bunch at a time.

Like PP said, I never had a big problem with boiling them, but I hate peeling them when they don't come off easily and it chips away at the white, no big issue when I am making egg salad, but when I make deviled eggs, I like them to look pretty.

I will try baking the eggs!

I can bake my bacon right with them :)

I had a killer time trying to peel my duck eggs when I was hard boiling/cooking them. Now I steam them and they practically fall out of the shell even if fresh. I found the idea here. Check post #19. The baking sounds like it could be good though and I might try it. Its always nice to know other ways to do something like cooking eggs. Never know when the stove top will be to busy or perhaps have enough room in an already hot oven.
