very glad Nugget is doing better...

good news..

but still try and get those vitamins..they have then at any pharmacy including Walmart..

have you tried dipping the beak into the water?
sometimes it helps to get them started.
but you'll have to really watch so it doesn't drown itself since it's still a bit wobbly..
putting marbles in the waterer helps..red ones if you can get them...

I'm like you..I live out of town also...about the same to nearest Walmart or other decent store.

She is using the waterer . Started yesterday. I'm going to day to get the vitamins. She still is listless but is up more. Still less than the rest though.

I got the instructions on the polyvisol. That was 2 drops on beak a day for 3 to 4 days then 1 drop on beak a day for a week.

How do I do the Vitamin E? You said Capsules but how much. They will be for adult so i'm guessing just a smidget? When I get home later this afternoon, i'll check on the answer from somebody before I give the vitamin E. I don't remember if I asked about Yogurt. I have some of that. Could it help too or will the vitamins be enough.

Well, Nugget does not like those vitamins. lol She is still trying to get the taste out of her mouth. lol. She is still improving constantly but i'm sure she needs the vitamins after her ordeal. I hope she is a she anyway. I didn't get the vitamin E. There was lots of stops and I just wanted to get home. I was gone form 11 am until 5:30. There was a new chick when I got home. The bator spiked temp to 104 either before or after it hatched. DH decided to look in and saw a chick then saw the temp. He's never messed with the bator but I say he did a good job while I was gone. The chick is fine and the bator is stabilized.

yogurt isn't a bad idea..but not when you give the vitamins..it could interfere with absorption..so give the yogurt if you want to..but far apart..like if you give the vitamins in the morning..give the yogurt in the afternoon or evening.

a little cooked egg yolk in the yogurt wouldn't hurt.

the E... a dab is ok..on the beak or in the food..

I did a little video clip of nugget. She took a nap after the vitamins and woke up with energy. I had to show you all. I was having computer problems and havne't gotten the video uploaded yet. When I do, you all will be the first to see.

Ok, here's Nugget. You may want to turn your volume down. DH was watching a movie and he is about deaf so the sound is loud.



Oh, and excuse their mess. Hadn't cleaned in there yet as of this video. I was gone all day. I came home to a near disaster that DH saved then gave Nugget her vitamins, she ate, drank and took a nap. When she woke up she was like this. Normal.

She still takes a nap or two more than the others but she is fine. She runs and plays. I'll have to post a pic of her sleeping on the little stuffed snake. It's so cute. It's her preferred place to sleep.

Excuse their mess. You can see the food dish is empty. That is mostly what is all over the floor of the brooder. They get in it and dig it out. Then will pick it off each other. Must be fun. I ruined it for them today. Gave them a feeder.
