On Friday, I'm trading my 1 yr old White Leghorn for an 8 month old Grey Rock (or so I've been told). The owner saved her and her sisters from someone who intended on putting them in a soup pot! I haven't SEEN the bird yet, but I'm told she's a Grey Rock. Would that be a cross breed? She lays light brown eggs pretty regularly.
Thanks!

There are two kinds of Rock someone would call "grey" . . .

The Silver Pencilled Rock

The Barred Rock (most likely, as they're VERY common)

I think it could possibily be a Silver Penciled Rock or a Barred Rock.

But I did find some Grey Rocks,
