It has a small, yellow single comb. I have two others just like it....I think they are barred rocks. I has three brothers just like them, they have found new homes. Just don't need 4 Barred Rock Roosters! One is plenty!
why a mix? It could be, I am just asking. I have a Barred Rock rooster and two hens. I got all of those birds at 3-4 months old last summer. Never saw them when young.

Smudged barring. That's pretty common with hatchery Rocks these days. Pity. I've got a couple myself.
Doesn't change the fact that they (and she pictured above) are absolutely darling.
