Is this a black sex link roo?!

Thank you for letting us know that the chick will be a rooster.
It should be compulsory ;) to conclude a "sexing" thread with the final answer. The pictures of chicks at different ages are helpful

Hi, All this is my first response/post at BYC. I have got a BSL roo, basically they look like their mother, Barred rock and pullet looks like Rhode island Red .

Mine Roo, named Rumi, is 6-7 weeks old. His counterpart, Nuri (sleeps with one eye open), and like to sit on my head, pullet 5-6 weeks old.

You can see her posing in the first image and Rumi is in the background.

Rumi is in action in the second picture..

welcome to to BYC! I just noticed you said this was your first post. There are a lot of people who are so knowledgeable here!

5 weeks ago I bought 2 “Prairie Bluebell pullets” from the feed store. They turned out to be Barred Rock cockerels. I even paid extra for the Bluebells. Frustrating indeed.
That had to be very disappointing, especially since you paid more even.
