Is this a breast bone sticking out or a growth?

Well yes and no. The Rockettes (they are 3 barred rocks) are all at a good weight so I really didn't look at their poo until today. I was mainly concerned for my sick hen and now I just decided to take a closer look at all of them. Ok, to the birdcoop with a shovel I go.
Or put on some gloves and pick them up.
I think the medicine kills them but I personally would not let them sit around so the girls could re eat them...:sick

I asked because.....there are so many people who do not think their chickens have worms.
And you are real life living proof...
You too didn't think these rocks had worms because they "looked" healthy...
Right?
So I am bookmarking this thread to add to my collection of threads I'm saving about "Worms"

@KikisGirls I just read a great article on de. I wish that I knew how to share it. I also read all of the comment. I was actually shocked at the people that lost dozens of birds and some lost there entire flock because of de. I knew that it could cause bad problems but I had no idea how many people bought the stuff because of what it said it was good for on the package and it wiped out so many chickens.

And just to let people know, just because you may not see worms in their poop, doesn't mean that they don't have worms. Trust me. I've already dealt with this.

I am not a fan of it, not one bit a fan.
Although I have to admit I used to think it was gold back when I first started chicken keeping.

That's to be expected. I mean if you look at the package anyone would think it's good. I just got lucky by finding out before I bought it. It's ashamed that companies can put stuff out there with no scientific proof of how it works. I see now that a lot of people have had their animals suffer and in some cases die from misinformation.

Yes they look and act healthy in every possible way. The Rockettes have lots of energy and they like to play around. I went and cleaned the coops but I do have to take it back about the tapeworms, it was a piece of hay stuck on her bottom, thank goodness. I was already upset about the roundworms they have. I hope I can get these worms gone for good and I will treating them at least once a year from here on out.

Do you mean as a dewormer or because of the dust? So DE shouldn't be around birds at all?

If you want to keep the smell down start using the "deep litter method" it works fabulously and it's totally free!
