Is this a cuckoo maran rooster?

These are my friends birds, I am hatching out some of her eggs. We were told what the rooster was, he was given to them to ward off the small neighborhood dog. He is a very gentile boy. Probably about 7-8 months old now. As I was looking at pictures of roosters and came across a cuckoo maran, I thought it looked a lot like him. Anyone want to give me an educated guess or post pics of your cuckoo maran roosters? Thanks

It does look like a Cuckoo Marans rooster... but I'm no expert

Not a Cuckoo Marans. Cuckoo Marans need pink-tipped black colored shanks and usually have feathered shanks (but most of them, being hatchery born, don't have that)

With that odd discoloration there, I think he's a Black Sex Link.
