I have four of these and am positive they are not what I was told they were, which was Red Sexlinks. I think they are Dark Cornish but have never had one. 3 have almost a pea comb and one has a bigger comb. Does anyone know for sure ???

Look like Hatchery dark cornish. I have some:

I've seen show quality dark cornish and the hatchery versions don't even come close. Mine are eating machines and they're poor egg layers. They are not long in this world. I'm looking forward to making a nice pot of chicken and dumplings.

I saw one of yours has a single comb? That's gonna be a mix breed or maybe a Barnevelder cross? Cornish are always pea combed.

Yes they do look alot like those. I bet that is what they are. They all came from the same lady who raised them from chicks she got from a hatchery! They are not the greatest layers but I have one that is broody and am seeing if she will hatch me some eggs. The other 3 are short lived at my house too. If the broody one wants to earn her keep then she can stay.

Thanks again for helping me!

The ones with a single comb look like hatchery dark cornish. The one with a single comb could almost pass as a barnvelder. If they got them from Ideal thats what they could be. Have you noticed a darker egg from them?
