Is this a reproductive disorder!

I don't think the pullet has worked the kinks out of her internal egg making factory yet. Give her another couple of weeks.

Too me it is amazing how many actually get it right to start with, it's a petty complicated process.
My Easter egger got it right and besides missing a day or two is pretty regular in the morning. I'm shocked they are laying this young. Thank you for all your help I appreciate it!

My barred rock just started laying too, raised her from March. Got two soft eggs in one day and she was acting lethargic. then next day layed what looked like a cooked egg yolk. Went to kick it off to the side and she got defensive and snatched it and ate it. She is back to her spunky self now but no egg yet following that episode. I’m hoping it’s beginners glitches as well.

Crossing my fingers for you! She is an evening layer so I'm hoping this evening goes better than yesterday. Will post an update if she lays anything.

Thank you! I hope everything turns out ok for you too. This hen is my sweetie girl too. My others are laying fine for beginners and eating same stuff so she might just naturally be taking longer to get ahold of the ropes

It is so hard as I have different age groups so feeding a layer food 24/7 is out of the question. Thank you.

Laying shell less eggs is hard on them since the shell gives their muscles something to push on. She was tired from the extra work!

She will start up with better eggs soon. Make sure they are fed close to 100 percent chicken feed and have free choice oyster shell.

Too many treats can mess up egg laying

I have a Rhode Island Red that has been doing that for months. She started out laying nice large eggs then all of a sudden her eggs went from soft shell to no shell. Most of the time she doesn’t hit the nest. She has plenty of calcium in her pen. They roam around back yard about 12 hours a day. I am at my wits end. Any recommendations?
She’s about 2 1/2 years old.

Is she on a layer feed? I am getting them pulverized limestone, as my girls do not like the oyster shells (they are chunky) she finally laid ONE hard shell egg but has not laid since. I am still mixing the mush for them but stopped adding the calcium per others replies. Your girl is older than mine, but how long has she been laying for?

I recommend serving her with carrots and potatoes after a long stew.
Production Reds, and high yield egg layers tend to lay prolifically for about 1 to 2 years before all *bleep* breaks loose, reproductive disorders set in, productivity drops dramatically.
That doesn't mean that she can't have a good life after 2 1/2 or 3 years; but I wouldn't count on eggs from her as a given... more as a bonus. Sounds like her shell gland has quit on her. I don't want to sound doom and gloom, but dang it... egg yolk peritonitis is nothing to joke about.
If she's a pet, you may need to consider putting her on medication that stops her egg laying altogether.
