Is This A Stray?

If I put my cat in a big basket with a lid he would spend all night trying to escape and I'm 100% sure he would succeed. Perhaps you should do it in the morning if going the basket method.

Otherwise, perhaps the shelter or someone on CL will lend you a crate. Have you ever tried Nextdoor? Someone may lend you a crate from there. If I was nearby I certainly would.
I have no call time on my phone.

Would this do for just the night if I put it on its side? With added holes and duck tape on the lid. I have nothing else. I think that it is bad though. 😰
It is 17' height, 11.5 length, and 7' width.

I also have one last thing in my chicken coop that I'll take a picture of tomorrow morning that I have highter hopes of.

If you put a towel in it, drill holes for air, and duct tape the top very securely.... Yes, you can make it work. It is not optimal and I'm only saying it will work because I think he'll die if you don't get him out of there. I think he'll be very uncomfortable all night in the container, but that is better than being dead.

Also since he will be getting fixed think of how many kittens won't be born by getting him out of this situation. The reality is, by saving him you are saving hundreds of cats.

I decided to call Sky, Prince now. It feels more right for some reason. I just named him Sky because he needed a name.

Great news today! He let me pet him for over a minute! He let me scratch his rump and behind his ears and I even put my hand on his tail and he didn't freak out! Alot of trust! :celebrate He also loves to be petted. Like loves it! He looked so happy. I don't know if I should but I'm am getting to attached to him, he is so sweet. If only I could keep him, he's so precious. :hit

He is also like one year old or so. He only mews and yowls for food. He doesn't make adult meows.

Sorry for the bad photo
This is going to be a sensitive subject. Please don't get angry with me.

This cat randomly appeared one day hiding under my parents car. She poked her head out at me and just stared. I decided to give her food. My plan is to gain her trust enough to put a paper collar on her neck. If it is gone the next day, she has a owner. Last year someone dumped 5 cats and they all got killed by fishercats, I don't want that to happen again.

So, today I gained enough of her trust to take a picture of her. Is she a stray? If she is not, don't worry, I will stop feeding her.

So eveynight, after I put the chickens inside, she appears and has recently started to mow and stay about one foot away from me.

She is a russian blue and still has some yellow in her eyes.
What does her fur look like is it shiny or greasy how does she walk scared or cautious could you put out a live trap to catch her
