Is this bumblefoot healed well enough or does it still need to be treated?

I noticed bumblefoot on one of my girls a few weeks ago and was able to remove the scab a few times and dress it with various poultices and salves. It never appeared to bother her (no limp, etc.) so I wonder if it is healing up and I should just leave it alone or if I should continue treating it. The scab would not come off tonight. The white is not pus, just flaky skin.

When you removed the scab, did you firmly squeeze the footpad and notice any yellowish chunky looking infection? Or was it all blood if you squeezed it?

To me, it looks like you have treated the surface but not addressed the root/core. I think you will find that that the foot is still full of solid infected material under that scab.

So do you think I should slice it open and see what I get? I just don't think I've ever seen an "after" picture to know what I'm aiming for.

And since it isn't bothering her I wasn't sure if treating it more is even necessary. I don't want it to get worse, however.

I would soak this foot a little and get the scab off first.
The two times I have treated bumble foot the pus was squeezed out and it was hard to get out. I didn't cut into the foot. I do think the pus needs to come out for it to heal. It does look quite swollen.

Sort of off topic but i would get those nails trimmed, they look very long.

I was thinking the very same thing.
Has anyone who has had to treat bumblefoot tried using Prid or a similar drawing salve on the foot after soaking to help draw out the core?
