Is This Bumblefoot?

Thank you for all of your replies! She has been noticeably limping since Sunday. I go out and sit with them every day to make sure I don't miss things like this. I called the vet, luckily we have one close by that will see chickens. I am taking her in tomorrow morning. In the meantime I have been soaking her foot in an iodine/hot water solution and have it wrapped up to keep it clean. My hope is that it is something treatable and we caught it soon enough.

I didn't expect to find one but thankfully we do. Hopefully it is something we can take care of and I will be sure to post the outcome. Thank you all for your help! :)

So Matilda went to the vet this morning and it wasn't anything serious. No tumor, bumblefoot, or infection. They weren't quite sure why the skin on her foot looks the way it does. They trimmed the dead skin off and gave me an antibiotic cream that will fight off any infection and help with the pain. We have to keep her foot wrapped until she heals up and continue the iodine/hot water soaks daily. It might be something that we have to maintain on a regular basis but she will be fine. :)

Thanks for posting the results. Where did the idea for iodine and hot water soaks come from? I've never heard of that as a soak. I just hope it's nothing harmful.

The vet suggested the iodine/hot water soaks. They checked her all over and said she was fine but to keep an eye on it and if anything changes to let them know. Hopefully between the antibiotic cream and soaks it will get better.

It will help fight off any infection, which I'm sure would eliminate swelling as well. That is usually what they suggest for chickens that show signs of infection. They didn't think she has an infection but suggested it as a precaution. She seems to like the soaks though. I think the warm water feels good on her feet. lol Thank you arkansas55, I am happy to be on here as well. I am trying to learn as much as I can:)
