I've got a black silkie who developed a white face while sitting on eggs. I didn't notice it until the eggs started hatching and I was checking for babies. I swabbed her face with an apple cider vinegar solution and have added acv to everybody's water daily. Her face looks better, but still whitish. It's been 2 weeks.

It could be from mites too. Silkies can get overwhelmed with external parasites while setting. I would check her over for mites and lice.

I did have an issue with mites on another hen that went broody under a cage. I've been dusting everything and every chicken with D E. I'll double check when I get home.

It may well be favus because of the white chaulky skin, dry skin, or mites. I would probably put some miconazole or clotrimazole on the skin daily with a rubber glove, since favus is a fungal infection. If you don't treat for favus, I would use some coconut oil on the skin instead. Chickens can get dry skin when they molt or are not laying, but that looks more like favus. For mites, permethrin spray or powder, but be careful of the eyes and nostrils. Only a skin scraping could confirm favus. Let us know how she gets along.
