That's it!! The first picture reminded me of it. Ick!
So why do none of my other chickens have them? It's been in with them for about a week. I've even checked my other Silkies (which the infected chicken sleeps with them) and they didn't have any on them..

I did consider that she had fleas. Because they were kind of big now that I look at other pictures.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but i'm just going to say from my experience...
Don't use Sevin dust!!!!!
I I treated my rooster with Sevin dust for pretty much the same bugs, and the next day he was pukeing! It did get rid of the bugs though.

I'm almost sure it was she Sevin dust that caused it.
I don't know if this will help you, but we put vaseline all over that skin with the bugs. It drowned the bugs and helped the skin. Good luck!!

The first sign would be the q-tip like eggs near the base of the feathers. There's a good picture here.

My
other girls dust bathe on a frequent basis. I haven't seen any signs on them either. The only one that couldn't self control seemed to be Nike. She's also the only Fav. Her feathers are a little thicker. That's the only difference I can think of. I check them now once a week to make sure none return.

Uh, chickens can't really puke. Sounds like an impacted crop.
How would you coat an entire, feathered body with Vaseline? I've heard of it for leg mites but lice?

Hmm, maybe it was impacted crop. Our chicken didn't have a lot of bugs, just on a certian area so we put valseine on that part. And maybe it wasn't lice either.
