Is this normal for a new chick???

you can also put one of those small mirrors in there ot make it look like he has a friend they like the mirrors also do the feather duster thing too

thanks guys. I actually took him out and laid down with him. He curled up between my arm and torso and underneath a fold of blanket and went right to sleep.

It's actaully pretty adorable. I'm gonig to get back to him, just thought I'd let you guys know how things were going.

Thanks for the advice!!!

Glad you decided to hold it!!

Cause even if it's only 70 in your house if it snuggles up to your body heat it is gonna be perfectly warm. And trust me it will love snuggling up to you .

Shee snuggled with me the whole night under my blanket. No problems at all, except when I'd move the slightest bit she'd chirp for a few seconds until she got comfortable again.

Cutest thing ever!!!

he's alone... thats why he's chirping.

Chicks in general- whether its one or many, make a ton of noise... the only time they dont is when theyre sleeping or eating.

please make sure you don't fall asleep with it because when i was 10, I had a fever one night and fell asleep in my dads bed watching tv (queen size) and my parrot was on the pillow on teh other side....I woke up later and found that I had squished him.. I was so sick I had just fallen asleep....it was so sad and I felt so bad...be careful.

Thats just so adorable i think you should keep that relationship up with him/her.
There really is nothing better than having that little creature who is 100% dependent on you. The bonding on their part is amazing, i had a baby Duckling who was special, crooked neck, not expected to live past the first few weeks. I created a special bond with her. and because i couldn't pay later vet bills i gave her away. great decision for her but i miss my little girl. Keep that bond up, its really amazing.
