This guy is pulling out quite a bit of his down, all I've been able to find on Google is about females, is there something I am missing? Thanks for any knowledge and advice :)

Agree that its probably a molt...my female runner has decided to do round 2 of her molt now  lots of downy feathers when she shakes and preens!

My run looks like there was a pillow fight but everyone seems fine. I guess just a late molt too.
Very good description @DuckyDonna :gig
The only thing I can guess, for my area anyways, is the temperature has been such a rollercoaster this winter...their poor little bodies are all confused! :idunno

It’s between 10 at night to 30s in the day, snow ice you know winter and some of my ducks are still molting. My one duck Junior has pulled all his feathers from around his neck and some of the others are still molting a little.Yep but that doesn’t stop them from running into the creek and playing all day in the water.I wouldn’t worry

Still in the water...absolutely! Even if there are ice chunks floating in it! The goose pool froze solid before I got a chance to dump it, but I still caught the gander ice skating around on the top :gig
