Is this pasty butt????

Thanks. They have been home for all of 30 min so this didn’t happen here. I will keep my eye on it. I will move the brooder so the lamp is to one side. Currently under the lamp it is 94 degrees. They are more spread out now but don’t seem hot.

Just get it washed up, and you can also rub a little Vaseline or coconut oil where the poop was, and that helps keep future poops from sticking and helps the area heal. Its very common in feed-store chicks, but isn't a problem when kept clear. Left alone, it will eventually stack up and clog the vent. So keep a watch on it.

So I should clean it off? I don’t want to stress her out more than I need to.....it’s for sure poop and nothing to do with an umbilical issue?
