I have wondered about that myself. Waddeling upright duck that has small wings and is too fat to fly?

Or a running tank duck?

Well IR do come in a lot of colors.

If I can find the pic I will add it. I hatched two Blue Swedish x Ancona ducklings and boy oh boy did they stand real upright. They didn't have a lick of Runner in them, though.

Ancona Ducks have some Runner blood in them.

Your duckling is a Silver Appleyard. Coloring is right and stance is perfectly normal. Any breed of duckling can stand up tall when they are alert, but this does not mean they are a runner.

Should have told that to my White Layer ducklings! They never ever stood upright. They were born waddling…

My Pekins stood almost as upright as the runner for the first few days I had them home.

Pekins are different, more laid back and nice.
