Hi!

Got 5 new chicks yesterday:
- 2 white leghorn
- 2 brown leghorn
- 1 chick looking like a brown leghorn but with some sort of crest (please see pictures)

The couple that sold them to me claims that they only have leghorn chickens... White, brown and buff.

Is this really a leghorn? And when would it be possible to tell if boy or girl?

I'll post about the other 4 the moment I manage to get a clear picture of them.

Thanks in advance.

I absolutely love that first bird.

Where did you get them from? They all look like mixed breeds to me.
Same here, same here :)

We got them from a backyard chicken keeper, nothing fancy - all allegedly leghorns!

They are all pullets and, as I stated before, as long as they lay anywhere near the numbers of a leghorn I'll be happy!

Oh wow! Yep, not LH's. I think you'll be happy with them though.
