When was the last time you saw a vote on zoning laws an building code laws.
All the time. If you don't like a zoning law change the people that made it.

Yep, an how much does it cost to even run much less get elected to be one of those people?
I thought my county seat legislators just overruled their city chicken ban in June, but someone told me yesterday that it was upheld after all!...This despite far more people opposing the ban. The last defense I heard about support of the ban was the spokeswoman said she was holding the place for those who wouldn't show their opposition to chickens for fear that the pro chicken community would be angry at them. All the time. Well that made no sense. the city can ban anything they want, the county has no say. Sounds more like you do. Elections are all about cash. Has almost nothing to do with where someone stands any more. People spend 30 to 100K to get a county job that pays 30K. Even if 80 or 90% agree with you it takes matching funds to run an have any chance.
Dennis, you are either asleep or willfully wearing blinders. And for the record, we are a constitutional republic, not a democracy. We aren't supposed to depend on mob rule. I'm stepping out of this conversation. I gave my two cents on ss disability. Good night.First you have to find out if there's enough people that agree with you. If you don't have enough people on your side then you probably wont get the changes you want.
If you have enough people on your side then you go to the elected people and tell them they will be looking for a new job if they don't change things.
You need to learn how the system works.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. Inside the city limits of Lexington, which IS the county seat, there is a total ban on backyard chickens. The county has no such ban. I can have as many chicks as I want, goats, pigs, whatever....there have been discussions to overrule this city ban, and many residents have showed their support in over turning the ban, few (if any, except those in charge) have showed support of the ban, yet it was upheld, so I was told just yesterday. I will have to look further to get more details because I thought the ban was overturned in June.Well that made no sense. the city can ban anything they want, the county has no say. LOL
