Is U.S.A. Social Security Disability easier to get now ?

From a personnal source that did a public study of the Social Security Disability system, quite a few years ago.

Of first time claims---It was found that of the denied claims 98% were denied without actually being considered. In other words they just file 13 the claims.

So if 85,000 got approved how many were filed ?

My calculator is broke and my brain is hurting can someone do the math on this.

It is also strangely odd that developing countries have more disabled people where opportunity is much greater for cures.

Disabled people in the US live longer an also are more willing to have children, passing on bad genetics.

not sure if this is exactly what meant so am sorry if not- but in own view working shoudnt automaticaly put someone on a hierarchy for disability help,many of us are born severely or profoundly disabled and never got the chance to do jobs before needing support,over here we have very vocal people as well as trolls on forums who bash people on benefits saying only those who have worked shoud get them,its totaly ignorant because they havent got a clue about disability and how different it can affect people;many of us have never worked because of being born disabled and how the impairments affect us; not because we are lazy scroungers.
some people;even many non disabled people are so vile and resentful to people on disabled benefits [such as SSI/SSDI],that they hold major bigoted views towards all disabled people and bully some of us to the point of severe mental health problems and suicide.

the people who get disability benefits [in any of our countries] through lying are a tiny minority,it was released over here under the freedom of information act of exact amount of people ripping off all UK benefits and it was like

, because we constantly hear from the general public and the media about benefit frauds,the problem is benefit fraud is something to sell news with so it skews reality.

although have personaly never worked; mum and dad as once multiple job workers;now on pension have put more money into this country than probably all the disability benefit bigots in this country, and they dont begrudge people they dont know disability benefits which they may eventualy pay back into the country or may pay the country back in another way.

am guessing it will be because physical disabilities [non complex impairments] are 'barriers' that are a lot more easier to adapt for and get around in places such as jobs,over here people who have had both legs amputated have been refused disability benefit because they were able to use a wheel chair, but the benefits people didnt factor in the issues caused by using the wheel chair which meant they had extra needs because of disability [and thus shoud have qualified].

The UK has a system of which it can be very proud. No-one can deny that there are those who would take unfair advantage of it but that's no reason to deny it to those who qualify. The UK system has been developed over several decades now and it's not easy to cheat these days. The financial and other support given to the disabled, in addition to the NHS and State Pension scheme, is a an amazing achievement for a country that emerged from the Depression and WW!! economically on its knees.

I too am, to say the least, disappointed by the ignorant and provocative comments made by people who perhaps either expect never to be disabled and financially disadvantaged or seem to lack any form of social conscience in this context. Perhaps, as you suggest, some are trolling. If so, it's a very cruel way to amuse themselves.

Well I cant speak to any system outside the U.S.
But here there's SSI that is given to disabled who have never worked and they collect an average of twice what people collect on SSD. I didn't see anyone bashing people that need the benefits.

It is probably because the barely functional disabled have been pushed out of the work place by a flood of able bodied people wanting the same work, and have had no choice but to swallow their pride and apply.

That would be illegal. Do you think companies are getting away with that ?
