If she is still opening and closing her mouth she is NOT dead. You can dip your finger in sugar water and rub it on side of beak to get a little in her. You can also try it with raw egg yolk to get a little liquid nourishment in her. Sounds like she is malnourished (starving to death). It would be best to hold her with her head up and in a slight tilt backwards like when they drink. Just don't squirt any liquid down her throat or she could drown.

I found Ruth like that one day and had to do the egg yolk till she revivied enough to be hand fed. First a liquidy mush by dropper till she could eat on her own. At first my hubby kept saying the same thing - "she's dead" but she lived to tell a different tale.
