is whiny dead??UPDATE!!!SHE DIED ):

Smallest of the bunch - always lagging behind - yep sounds like malnourishment issue or malabsorption or vitamin deficiency. Ruth had the same thing and I've followed many threads with others having the same thing. Just because she was eating doesn't mean she was getting all the nutrients she needed if she had a malabsorption issue and being the smallest and not growing as quickly sounds like it.

You can give her a couple of drops of Poly-Vi-Sol in beak a couple of times a day. It's a liquid baby vitamin/supplement sold anywhere baby stuff is sold. Works wonders. You'll need to give her some ASAP but the egg yolk will help in meantime.

I was just thinking this too. If there's someone who can go get it for you so you can stay with her that would be good.....

UPDATE!!!! she is breathing, I saw her, several times!!!

I know not to get my hopes up that she will make it, but no I know for sure that she is alive and I am not nursing a dead bird.

I will get the vitamin stuff right now, and see how she does with it.

I did the yoke and the sugar water, and put her under a heat lamp.

I am under the impression that it is fairly chilly in oregon at the moment...could be that she is also chilled and hypothermic... put her in a brooder situation where you can ensure the temp is around 80-85 ... I suggest you give electrolytes...if you do not have this then diluted childrens pdeialyte or even gatorade will sufice. give it at a luke warm temp. until the birds body temp and hydration is sorted out then nutrients aren't going to make much of a difference. (When she is conscious then you can start with som baby parrot handfeeding formula which has saved many a prostrate bird)

I put her under a heat lamp, and she seems to be breathing deeper and it is very obvious she is breathing now!
I am headed out to the store, i am going to get the poly-vi-sol and the pedialite and gatorade, I am not sure where to get electrolites, so i will just get the others for now.

when I get home I will need to know how much of each to give her, if you could all tell me what you think about the ammounts of things while I am gone, that would be beyond amazing~~~

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH<, SO MUCH!!!!! Whinny may make it!

Ya! Glad she's getting better.

Now let's see. You can get electrolites at TSC (Tractor Supply CO.). I think Gatorade might be an electrolite too. Here's a home made electrolite recipe that I got off the site.

2 quarts water
1 teaspoon baking soda (you need warm water to desolve the soda)
1 teaspoon salt
7 Tablespoons sugar
1 packet Sugar-Free Kool-Aid
1/2 teaspoon salt substitute
