you say you got electrolytes......the proper one from the feed store? Is it Durvet? If so then the dilution is as follows:
If you have the 4 oz. packet of Vitamins and Electrolytes then you would mix teaspoon into 1 gallon of water.
If you have the 8 oz. packet of Vitamins and Electrolytes then you would mix teaspoon into 1 gallon of water.
If you got the pedialyte or gatorade then dilute 50/50 with water and please consider going to the feed store to get "proper" electrolyte/vitamins (the pedialyte or gatorade is just an emergency substitution when you do not have or cannot get the Durvet or equivalent sold at feed stores.)
IMPORTANT: When you give, do NOT "tilt head back" ...you must just dribble it alongside the beak until she is strong enough to drink on her own as she MUST swallow it on her own....
A bird has two "holes" >one leads into the crop and the other into the lungs... a bird is unable to "close off" the hole to the lung and if it does not swallow on its own then the fluid will more than likely also get into the lungs which will cause aspiration or infection.
