When he's just in the house with me, he breathes fine, definitely better than a few days ago. When he runs or moves around more, he breathes heavily. He's out of breath so easily, I'm not sure what that's from, but he had 5 days of Tylan and if he was starting up with pneumonia, that should have kicked it out. Could be his breathing is just his diminished lung capacity from the fungal infection three summers ago. He may never be right again in that department. He chased his hen whom he hasn't seen in over a week and chased Deacon away and was heaving so loudly, I had to make him slow down so he could catch his breath.
His age is always a factor in anything that happens. I've never heard of anyone with an old Delaware rooster. He is 5 years old so he's getting up in age. His color is great, his eyes are bright and he seems like he isn't in pain nor does he act like he feels bad at all. Naturally, chickens don't always show when they are ill until they are at death's doorstep, but he looks like a healthy rooster. Even his feet aren't noticeably messed up unless someone inspected the toes closely and from the underside of them.
