I love hermies too! He's adorable.
She has some that are considered jumbo, they are freakin huge. But this little nubbin, oh man. She went to the pet store because they had tanks on sale. She seriously bought a 75 gallon fish tank for her hermies. Was gonna combine them all into one tank. But now this little guy is gonna stay in his own until he gets bigger. Her husband has to reinforce their floor so she can set up the tank. She puts so much sand in, the tanks are more than half full of sand, damn thing will weigh close to 1,000 pounds

This is in our county. Can't avoid that during winter unless you go way south and back up. And that's just one pass - lol! This often causes supply chain issues when the rigs can't even attempt it.

That’s amazing. I love hermies. 😍
They're so cute! I should get some as class pets.

As long as the darling little school children don't harass them... My students are *usually* pretty respectful for being labeled misfits, but the line between "good kid" and "danger to society" is mighty thin for some of them.

I've never kept hermies, do they need a lot more sand than fish do? or is she just going overboard on sand? I can't think they'd need more than what, 6 inches of substrate?
