Hello, guys

Over the last several days, we turned these two:

into all this:

And that doesn't include the bacon! Today I'm going to start the wet cure process. 😋

My husband left the hides, heads, and legs on a tarp off the porch while we cut it all up and the neighbors dog stole one of the heads! Just one probably weighed a good 20 lbs.

Where do I send paypal cash, and how fast can you ship? :p

Was the white/pink one the one that ran off to die?
Yes, Ms. BarbieQ. She didn't run off, though. She was on top of the hill in the pigpen but the kill shot convulsions sent her down the hill, through their electric fence, off a ravine, and into the creek.
Thank God we had an electric winch.

Hello, friends
I'm back with a sad life update. I made the decision to put down my geriatric cat, Napoleon. He would be 17 next month. Up until a few months ago, he was doing great and has had no health issues his whole life. But within the last few months he went blind, lost almost all his hearing, grew painfully thin, and now has been peeing outside the box. As much as it saddens me and hurts me, it's time to let him go. I have an appt for tomorrow night. Our vet friend will stop by and do it at our house so his last moments will remain peaceful.
I have cried so much the past couple days. This cat means so much to me. My cousin gave him to me as a birthday present when I turned 13.

He's very much a one person cat. I could pet him indefinitely and he would remain happy and enjoy it, but would only tolerate a few moments of affection from anyone else.
One of my favorite memories of him is how he seemed to know I was in some kind of distress when I was in labor with each of my kids and wouldn't leave my side. I had all my babies at home so he was present for each whole event. He would sit in the bathroom if I was laboring in the shower, and refused to get off the bed when I was pushing, even though he clearly didn't like the midwife in his space. 🤭
He is very special and I'm going to miss him dearly.

I much prefer uprights over chests. They're easier to keep organized and find what I need. 👌 we currently have more chests than uprights but I don't think we'll be buying any more chest style in the future!
My wife is tiny. I'd come out and find her IN a chest freezer accidentally if we didn't have an upright. We had a step stool in the laundry room when we had top loaders for that reason.

I don't deserve my husband. Look what he accomplished and surprised me with while I was gone. 🥲
He laid the new floor and painted the living room and put up the the trim.

And, to my total surprise and shock, he completely overhauled the girls' room. :th
He laid the floor, painted, put in two new windows, replaced the ceiling and added recessed lighting...plus put in a door where their closet will eventually be built.
