Isa's Homestead Happenings and Hangout

So they want to spend $250,000 to try and recoup the $100,000 value that's not there?
Ya sounds like a solid plan if you can get others to put up the money.
Then I suppose they'll add on about $900,000 for the emotional crap and wrongful death.
Try to walk away with a cool million? Ya that sounds about right.
Yeah it doesn’t really make sense. I would just try to save up and buy a new snake. But maybe they’ll try to sue for millions or something.

Coffee, a snake breeder, had a permit to keep Burmese and reticulated pythons before they were added to the list of prohibited species in 2021. After the rules changed, he was given five months to re-home the snakes, and was able to find homes for most, but still had more than 30 of the reptiles in his possession.

Coffee told WTVJ he contacted the FWC about a year ago and asked them to extend the deadline
Emphasis mine
Yeah, not feeling sorry for them.

So what happened?
I don't know the entire story since I could only find a few videos, but they conducted a raid on a breeder because he had Burmese pythons that were supposed to be grandfathered in, but weren't. There were 34 snakes that they were needing to destroy, and the owner specifically pointed out the boa so that the guys sent in knew not to kill it becUse it was a legal snake and not one they were allowed to destroy, unlike the Burmese.

They took it out and killed it during the culling of the pythons and 'realized' after (though it looked like at least one knew beforehand and just didn't say anything until after). They then told the owner, who blew up about it because he'd had that female for 10 or 11 years and she had babies inside her that were already sold worth about 100 grand.

The video was pretty tough to watch, especially when he finds out they killed the wrong snake. You can hear the pain when he finds out.

I think it was for the lawyers supposedly but idk. Still really high amount and a little weird
I miss the good old days when people would pay for stuff on their own and quit asking hard working people for their money

That’s sad. I don’t think I could watch the video

Too damn bad. You want to sue? Pay for the lawyer yourself
Yeah good point but I doubt anyone has that much lying around 😂 I’m sure there are ways to pay for it themselves though or even groups that would do it for free if they actually looked into it. Which I’m sure they did not. People seem to be donating though
